PRV8T Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

PRV8T (“PRV8T”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy and handling your information responsibly.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, store, and protect information when you use the PRV8T mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the “Service”).

By accessing or using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.

2. Information We Collect
Information You Provide

To create and use a PRV8T account, we collect information that you voluntarily provide, including:

  • Mobile phone number

  • Username or display name

  • User PIN or identifier

  • Profile information

  • Profile photographs or avatars

  • Messages and content exchanged through the Service

  • Customer support inquiries and communications

Data We Collect

  • ⁠Names, email address, and phone number

  • Media files shared in chat

  • Device token (used for push notifications)

  • ⁠Online status and last active time

  • ⁠IP address (for anonymous web users)

  • ⁠Location (when a user chooses to share their location in chat)

Your phone number is used for account registration, authentication, account management, security purposes, and operation of the Service. While PRV8T may use phone numbers for account creation and verification, your phone number is not intended to be publicly displayed to other users through normal operation of the Service unless otherwise disclosed by you.

3. How We Use Information

We may use collected information to:

  • Provide and operate the Service

  • Facilitate communications between users

  • Create and manage accounts

  • Authenticate users

  • Improve functionality and user experience

  • Diagnose technical issues

  • Monitor performance and reliability

  • Detect fraud, abuse, or unauthorized activity

  • Respond to customer support requests

  • Enforce our Terms and Conditions

  • Comply with legal obligations

    PRV8T is designed to minimize the exposure of user phone numbers to other users; however, phone numbers are collected and processed by PRV8T for account registration, authentication, and service operation

4. Communications and Message Data

PRV8T provides messaging functionality that allows users to communicate with one another. Messages, conversation data, and related communication information may be processed, transmitted, stored, and managed through PRV8T infrastructure and supporting service providers in order to provide the Service. Users are solely responsible for the content they choose to send through the Service.

  • Real-time presence data (online status, typing indicator) is visible to contacts

  • ⁠Basic usage stats per user (total sessions, total messages sent) are tracked

  • Session activity is tracked (QR scans, joined sessions, message counts)

  • Firebase Screen Reporting is active on iOS, which logs screen views automatically.

  • A single-device policy is enforced — the app detects and restricts simultaneous logins from multiple devices

    Device Permissions Used:

  • ⁠Camera — for sending photos in chat

  • ⁠Media/gallery access — for sending images and files

  • ⁠Location — only when the user manually shares their location in a message

5. Security and Encryption

PRV8T implements technical, organizational, and administrative safeguards designed to help protect user information.

Communications between the application and PRV8T infrastructure may be protected through encrypted transmission channels and industry-standard security technologies.

Data stored within PRV8T systems may also be protected through encryption and other security controls designed to reduce the risk of unauthorized access to stored information.

PRV8T does not currently provide end-to-end encryption for user communications.

Users should not assume that communications are encrypted in a manner that guarantees exclusive access only to the sender and intended recipient.

PRV8T does not operate a zero-knowledge architecture and does not represent that it is technically incapable of accessing message content where required for service operation, maintenance, legal compliance, security investigations, abuse prevention, or other legitimate business purposes.

While reasonable security measures are implemented, no method of electronic communication, transmission, or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

6. Notifications

PRV8T may send notifications through third-party notification services, including Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM). Notifications may include limited information necessary to inform users of activity within the Service.

Currently, notifications may display:

  • The PRV8T application name

  • The sender’s display name

Message content is not intentionally included within push notification payloads displayed on the user’s device. Users may manage notification preferences through their device settings where supported.

7. Sharing of Information

PRV8T does not sell personal information to third parties.

We may share information in the following circumstances:

Service Providers

We may engage third-party providers to assist with:

  • Cloud hosting

  • Database management

  • Analytics

  • Infrastructure operations

  • Customer support

  • Security monitoring

These providers may access information only as reasonably necessary to perform services on our behalf.

Legal Requirements

We may disclose information when required by:

  • Applicable law

  • Court orders

  • Regulatory requests

  • Government authorities

We may also disclose information where reasonably necessary to:

  • Protect users

  • Investigate misuse

  • Prevent fraud

  • Enforce our agreements

  • Protect our rights and property

Business Transactions

If PRV8T undergoes a merger, acquisition, restructuring, investment transaction, or sale of assets, user information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

8. Data Retention and Account Deletion

PRV8T retains information only as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, fulfill legitimate business purposes, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.

When a user deletes their account, PRV8T will take reasonable steps to remove or delete information associated with that account, which may include:

  • User account records

  • Registered phone number

  • Nearby chat session data

  • Messages sent by the deleted account

  • ⁠Most data is removed, but the user's UID is kept as an empty placeholder (marked as "deleted") so the app doesn't break for other users

  • ⁠Media files (images, videos, audio) that were already received by other users are not deleted

In certain circumstances, conversation records may continue to remain visible to other participants in a chat through a soft-deletion process that preserves the remaining participant’s conversation history.

As a result, deletion of an account may not immediately remove all references to prior communications from the devices or conversation history of other users who participated in those communications. Certain information may also be retained where necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, enforce agreements, or protect the security and integrity of the Service.

9. International Data Transfers

Information may be processed, stored, or transferred outside your country of residence. By using the Service, you acknowledge that your information may be transferred to jurisdictions that may provide different levels of data protection than your home jurisdiction. PRV8T takes reasonable measures to protect information regardless of where it is processed.

10. Your Rights and Choices

Subject to applicable law, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including the right to:

  • Access your information

  • Correct inaccurate information

  • Request deletion of information

  • Restrict certain processing activities

  • Object to certain uses of information

  • Withdraw consent where applicable

11. Children’s Privacy

The Service is not directed toward children under the minimum age required by applicable law. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable legal requirements. If we become aware that such information has been collected, we will take reasonable steps to remove it.

12. Third-Party Services

The Service may rely on third-party services and infrastructure providers to operate effectively. These third parties may have their own privacy policies and practices. PRV8T is not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party services beyond our control.

  • Twilio — phone numbers are sent to Twilio for OTP verification

  • ⁠Firebase Crashlytics — automatically collects crash reports and device info in the background

  • ⁠Google FCM — sender's name is included when delivering push notifications

  • ⁠Google Fonts — used on the web version, which means user IP is briefly sent to Google's servers

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updated versions will be published through the Service or on our website. Continued use of the Service after any changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
